Ikaro was the brother of King Anou of Nerak and served as second in command and as the personal ambassador of the king. In the year 7000, he went to King Belgrave and asked him to liberate Panei. King Belgrave agreed and by early summer, Panei was back under the rule of its former kings and queens.

After the battle of Nasad, it was believed that King Anou had been killed and Ikaro temporarily took his place. A month later, it was discovered that King Anou had in fact survived and Ikaro stepped down so his brother could once again sit on the throne.
