Saono'modaek
The saono'modaek is a giant reptile which lives in the oases of Tayve. It is little more than a large head and a tail on two stout legs. They range in size from several feet long to large enough to be deadly to a fifty foot giant.
Saono'modaeks would not be so fearsome if they did not have their tails. They are covered in sharp quills which they can throw with great speed and precision. Soldiers venturing into their territory are lucky if they see the creature before it attacks so they have time to raise their shields in defense. The giant saono'modaeks are probably more deadly than the giant sea monster na'karden.
It is possible that the saono'modaek was given its name by the Lunari. If so, it probably means something along the lines of "forest lizard".
