The boggle snake is the land alternative to the sea monster na'karden. However, it is much rarer and little is known since most who meet this creature do not survive. The exact origin of its name is unknown but most believe it originated when someone once said the size of the snake would boggle the mind.

The snake is large enough that in the dark, an unwary adventurer could easily walk into its mouth thinking it to be a cave. This is the snake's primary method of feeding, to lie with its mouth open until something enters. On the rare occaision that it moves, it tends to be accompanied by a great thundering noise, most often believed to be caused by shaking its tail. The venom of this snake is the most toxic substance in all Nebulum causing almost immediate death and at times, spontaneous combustion of the creature bitten. According to Naiya'Nal, the Dark Witch Wendok mentioned in her memoirs that the snake's fangs were the only thing that the Dark Wizard Voth ever forbade her from bringing back to Sarda with her, possibly because he knew it would be a danger to himself.

These snakes tend to live mostly in darker less-populated areas of the world. Belgrave killed one near the abandoned underground city of Elevor and later saw one while escaping from Voth in the Dark Valley. His final action in Nebulum involved stabbing the Dark Wizard with a boggle snake fang as they fell from the high tower of Voth's castle.
