The area near Sehol that once was a great cliff with the Icavor River crashing down from over it is now a wide sloping region with the Icavor River breaking into many minor streams before the waters once again combine at the bottom. Nidiz survived accidentally going over the falls, and until the time of Gulith the Barbidon, that was the only occurrence to bring fame to the place.

However, Gulith the Barbidon changed that. He was a proud warrior from Sarda, and in 5019, led an army of Barbidons up the Icavor River hoping to fight the Dark Magicians. The river was swollen when they reached Sehol, probably from heavy rains over Lake Icavor, and despite warnings from the locals that the cliff was unsteady with the increased water flow, Gulith ordered his army to scale the cliff. As prophesied, the cliffs collapsed, and the army led by Gulith the Barbidon was lost because of Gulith’s infamous refusal to heed the warnings. The cascade of rock and water also destroyed the small town of Sehol, but survivors rebuilt just a little further downriver.

As mentioned by the bartender in Sehol, a recent flood moved some of the dirt and rock of the slope, exposing an area believed to contain relics from the doomed army. As we explored the area today, we saw quite a few treasure hunters digging throughout the area. Most of of the items they found were rusted fragments of armor, unrecognizable after centuries in the wet dirt and rock.

Elendra’Tel, refusing to be outdone by mere treasure hunters, determined to find the bones of Gulith the Barbidon. She found a promising location, and began to sift through the rocks. The rest of us left her to her task, and walked around the nearby area.

She was clearly not searching the right place. As I walked around the area, I tripped over a piece of rusty metal sticking from the ground. Upon closer examination, it was clearly an artifact. I soon had an entire Barbidon sword uncovered, rusty and bent, but whole. I cannot prove it was the sword carried by Gulith, but Elendra’Tel is convinced. I anticipate a long day at the library tomorrow.
